Dr. Edward I. Shapiro, D.D.S.

Dr. Edward Shapiro was born and raised in Utica, New York. He attended undergraduate school at the University of Miami receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He went on to do research at the University of Buffalo School of Dentistry in the department of Oral Medicine. After early acceptance to dental school, he graduated from the University of Buffalo School of Dentistry in 1984. He received perfect scores on the Northeast Regional Board Exam and went into private practice. After practicing in Syracuse, New York, he relocated to the wonderful city of Charlotte, North Carolina in the spring of 1994. After practicing in a group for 9 years, Dr. Shapiro opened his own dental practice in Latta Pavilion in historic Dilworth to pursue his passion for dentistry in a caring and comfortable environment for his family of patients, offering the most advanced dentistry the profession has to offer.

Dr. Shapiro is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Alumni of the prestigious L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education and Alumni of the Nash Institute for Dental Learning. He has held chairman position and served on the Peer Review committees in both Syracuse, N.Y. and Charlotte, N.C. for 10 years.

Dr. Shapiro resides in Charlotte with his wife Michelle and daughter Lilly. As much passion as he has for his profession, Michelle and Lilly make his life complete; they are his pride and joy. The smiles and expressions Lilly gives her daddy melts his heart. In their spare time, Dr. Shapiro and his family enjoy spending time in the mountains and beaches of the Carolinas. Dr. Shapiro's other passion is flying. He earned his private pilot's license in 1991 and holds advanced ratings in instrument and multiengine flying.He also enjoys scuba diving which is reflected in the display of saltwater reef aquariums in his office treatment rooms.

Rochelle

Rochelle is a registered dental hygienist and has worked with Dr. Shapiro since 1996. She is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana and has lived in the Charlotte area since 1990. Rochelle is a graduate of York Technical College and also of Vincennes University. She has built a lot of great relationships with our patients over the years and looks forward to welcoming new patients into our practice. Breast Cancer survivor. In remission since 2002. Married to Chris and an active supporter of Clover Blue Eagle football.

Pam

Pam is a certified dental assistant and has been in dentistry for 28 years. She is from Richmond, VA and recently moved to Charlotte with her husband Eric and daughter Keirsta.

Nicole

Nicole is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She started her career in the dental field as certified dental assistant and graduated from dental school in 2005. Nicole has lived in Charlotte since 1989.

Priscilla

Priscilla is a Dental Assistant.

Jaqui

Jaqui is the Office Coordinator.
